Management

Keeping our Client’s plants running Safely and Effectively is our goal.

In all industries, a good maintenance program cannot be over emphasized, especially with ageing facilities, combined with safety, environmental, reliability and integrity concerns. An effective Maintenance program helps to ensure plant availability while providing increased production and reduced equipment downtime.

Your maintenance program starts before any equipment has reached the site, by preparation activities, to ensure that all of your equipment is preserved before use, and effectively maintained during operations lifecycle.

With our highly experienced maintenance teams, we ensure that your Asset Registers are up to date, with “accurate” equipment information. We manage your Equipment information via a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). By use of intelligent CMMS, we ensure the elimination of errors in the information in your Asset Registers, and guaranteeing effective maintenance execution at your sites.

Our experienced Materials management teams are able to make sure that you have all the correct materials required to manage your maintenance program. We also have a lot of experience in Spare Parts Interchangeability management, which helps you to reduce Spare Parts required to be held in stock, and therefore reducing overall maintenance costs.

By working closely with Operations teams, we have gained a lot of experience in dealing with front-line maintenance, managing your breakdowns effectively, and getting your plants fully operational, in very short time periods, and keeping plant downtime to a minimum.

NCPS technical experts are experience in Turnarounds and Shutdowns. We have managed large and small Shutdowns. From short term turnarounds, where works are completed in Production Stops, to large scale Shutdowns, where inventory is completely removed from the process for works execution. Our success has been due to our time-proved Gated Shutdown Process, and our Integrated Planners working closely with our client’s Operations Planners to produce highest quality scheduling and execution plans.

Maintenance

Over the years we have managed multiple 3rd party services for our clients, and have been very successful at delivering quality 3rd party management. We make sure our client gets the best value for their money, and ensuring the very best service providers with the highest safety and quality standards are utilised on site.

We have found that some 3rd Party Services can become expensive, through downtime on site for these 3rd Party Teams. So, we have taken the approach to bring some of these external 3rd Party Services in-house, and carry out training for our clients, so our clients can manage some of these services internally. We have given a few examples below !

THERMOGRAPHY

Thermal imaging is non-contact, and applies to most types of equipment, and conditions are obtained without disturbing production. It quickly identifies specific problem locations, and allows for detection of problems before equipment failure. Also, can scan large areas quickly to identify areas of concern.

Thermographic surveys are particularly valuable on large, complex 24/7 operations, where electrical equipment cannot be switched off. Isolation of the supply becomes increasingly difficult where the continuity of supply is essential for plant operations.

On the right, we have shown 3 examples of different applications for Thermal Imaging condition monitoring:

1. An Electric Motor showing an internal winding problem.

2. A Separator Vessel showing Sand build-up.

3. A Furnace wall showing refractory damage.

As seen in the images, these are issues that undetectable by the naked eye.

Internal & External 3rd Party Management

HOT TAPPING & LINE STOPPING

Companies are often required to make modifications to their existing process piping systems and containment tank systems for reasons of expansion or maintenance. Historically, this has required shutting down a portion of the system and purging the line to ensure a safe connection. Hot tapping & Line Stopping is a cost & time efficient alternative procedure of making connections to in-service piping systems, tanks and vessels.

Our isolation teams use world class technology to create safe work zones for pressurized pipeline maintenance, modification and repair. Because they have completed some of the industry's most rigorous training, our crews can deliver appropriate, cost-effective technical solutions to mitigate risk, even in extreme environments.

Hot Taps can be performed on most any type of pipe, ranging from carbon steel to PVC. Taps are done on lines containing water, oil, gases, fuels, steam, and many other chemicals.

Asbestos-Cement - Stainless Steel - Steel Cylinder - Carbon Steel - Ductile Iron - Cast Iron - Copper - PVC - Crude Oil - Gasoline - Water - Steam - Natural Gas - Wastewater.

Line Stopping: Extending and modifying your existing pressurized system while it’s under full operating conditions.

Line Stops are used to temporarily shut down a pipeline system to complete modifications or repairs. They allow a system to operate as usual without any interruption of service.

The Line Stop operation consists of a special flanged fitting, a temporary valve, and our actuator. The fitting is installed and tested, the temporary valve is installed, and the hot tap is completed. After the hot tap, we install the line stop actuator and insert the stopping head into the line.Line Stopping: Extending and modifying your existing pressurized system while it’s under full operating conditions.

When the necessary work has been accomplished, the stopping head is removed, and the completion plug is set. The completion plug seals at the flange on the fitting and allows us to remove our temporary gate valve. A blind flange is installed and the operation is complete.
